In its daily statistical report, the Ministry stated that hospitals in the Gaza Strip received "one martyr and 8 new injuries" during the past 24 hours, without providing further details regarding the circumstances of the new casualties.
Violations of the Ceasefire Agreement
Despite the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10 last year, Israel has committed hundreds of violations involving shelling and gunfire, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries. The Ministry reported that the toll from Israeli violations of the agreement since October 11 has reached approximately 615 deaths and 1,651 injuries.
These daily violations persist despite the United States' announcement in mid-January regarding the start of the "second phase" of the agreement. Palestinian officials continue to call for international pressure to compel Israel to adhere to the ceasefire and fulfill the agreement’s terms, which include the entry of agreed-upon quantities of food, relief, medical supplies, and shelter materials such as tents and mobile homes.
The Cost of the Conflict
The ceasefire agreement aimed to end a two-year Israeli war of genocide that left massive destruction, affecting 90% of civilian infrastructure. The United Nations has estimated the cost of reconstruction at approximately $70 billion.
