Jordanian national karate team athlete Muhammad Al-Jaafari won the gold medal on Tuesday in the under-84kg category, giving Jordan its first gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games – Nagoya.

Al-Jaafari secured the gold medal after defeating Iranian athlete Ali Asghar Asiabari in the final, taking the top spot in his weight category.
Al-Jaafari had reached the final after defeating India's Chetan Bhat 8–0, continuing his successful campaign in the karate competition before ultimately claiming the gold medal.
