Meta launched two models, Muse Wonder and Muse Wonderful, on Monday, describing them as its most capable artificial intelligence models to date, as the social media company seeks to compete more aggressively with OpenAI and Anthropic.

Meta shares rose about 4% during afternoon trading.
The launch comes after CEO Mark Zuckerberg pledged to invest billions of dollars and stepped up efforts to recruit researchers over the past year in a bid to catch up in Silicon Valley’s intensifying AI race.
Meta said Muse Wonder will soon power its personal AI agent, Muse, which will initially be available to subscribers. The more powerful Muse Wonderful model will be available to subscribers of Muse Code, the company’s AI-powered coding tool.
“We began a comprehensive overhaul of our AI efforts 14 months ago, and during that time, we have moved from rebuilding our foundations to expanding our horizons,” Meta said in a blog post.
The successful launch of Meta’s personal AI agent, Muse, last month could open a profitable path for the company to turn its massive AI investments into new revenue streams through subscriptions, despite concerns about user privacy.
