Dr. Tatyana Feldbush, an otolaryngologist (ENT specialist), stated that headphones can cause damage to the ears when listening to loud music for prolonged periods.اضافة اعلان

According to her, the risk of hearing loss and tinnitus can arise from both wired and wireless devices. These health effects manifest when listening to music at a volume level exceeding 85 decibels, especially in noisy environments such as public transport, airplanes, and gyms.

To mitigate this risk, the specialist recommends following the "60-60 rule"—listening to music through headphones for no more than 60 continuous minutes, and at a volume level that does not exceed 60% of the maximum capacity.

"If a person is forced to use headphones for long periods, it is better and safer to use full-size (over-ear) headphones or noise-canceling headphones, as users feel less inclined to turn the volume up too high when using them," she says.

For his part, Dr. Dmitry Gorin, also an otolaryngologist, advises listening to music through headphones for no more than two continuous hours. He notes that one should start at a low volume level and then gradually raise it to a comfortable level. If a person cannot hear others speaking while listening to music, they must lower the volume.
