Mohamed Lotfy's addition comes as the main cast gradually takes shape. The series relies on a ensemble structure expected to feature eight or nine principal characters alongside Mai Omar. This framework provides space for multiple intersecting storylines within a popular social drama context.

The 30-episode series will be directed by Mohamed Bakir and produced by Hassan Assiri for broadcast during the upcoming Ramadan season.

On the writing front, Mohab Tarek has completed approximately 12 episodes so far as scriptwriting and casting continue. According to the current plan, filming is scheduled to begin in mid-September once cast attachments and filming locations are finalized.

"Halima Joubran" was selected as the final title for the series after "Jameela Joubran" was previously used as a working title. Upcoming production stages are expected to reveal further details regarding character arcs and relationships.

"Halima Joubran" marks a new installment in Mai Omar's Ramadan lineup following her participation in the 15-episode Ramadan 2026 series "El Sett Monalisa", which co-starred Ahmed Majdi, Sawsan Badr, Wafaa Amer, Shaimaa Seif, Jory Bakr, Salwa Mohamed Ali, Hassan Hefny, Mahmoud Azab, Mohamed Mahmoud, and Moustafa Emad. "El Sett Monalisa" was written by Mohamed Sayed Bashir and directed by Mohamed Ali.

This project also continues Mai Omar's recent direction of working independently from her husband, director Mohamed Sami, following their separation in artistic collaborations during her previous Ramadan project and continuing here through her work with director Mohamed Bakir.

On the cinematic front, Mai Omar is continuing work on the film "Samson and Delilah", marking her first collaboration with Ahmed El-Awady. The film co-stars Khaled El-Sawy, Essam El-Sakka, Ahmed El-Rafaey, Mohamed Tharwat, Ahmed Essam El-Sayed, and Retal Abdel Aziz. It is written by Amjad El-Sharkawy, Mahmoud Hamdan, and Shady Mohsen, directed by Raouf El-Sayed, and produced by Ahmed El-Sobky.
