Amman — Representing His Majesty King Abdullah II, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Eng. The two-day summit, organized by the Amman Chamber of Industry and the Jordan Chamber of Industry, featured more than 400 business-to-business meetings between Jordanian companies and suppliers and representatives of UN agencies, aimed at strengthening opportunities for Jordanian companies to access UN procurement and international supply chains.

Al-Qudah said the royal patronage of the summit underscores support for the ability of Jordan’s national industries to access global markets, noting that the summit provides an opportunity to expand Jordan’s partnership with the United Nations beyond the humanitarian sphere into economic and productive sectors and supply chains.

Al-Qudah stressed the importance of Jordanian companies being prepared to compete in the UN procurement market by registering on the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM), documenting their capabilities and certifications, and complying with required specifications, quantities and delivery schedules.
Amman Chamber of Industry President Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir said the summit represents a step toward expanding the partnership with the United Nations to include economic and productive sectors. He noted that UN system procurement amounted to approximately $25.7 billion in 2024, while Jordan’s share stood at around $394 million from 21 UN organizations.

He said raising Jordan’s share to 3% over the next three years could add approximately $380 million annually to the national economy, in addition to boosting production, employment and logistics services and opening new markets for Jordanian companies.

The business meetings covered pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, food and agro-industries, transport and logistics services, clothing and textiles, construction, energy, information technology and professional services.
