Dry, hot weather conditions to continue until tomorrow

Amman - The maximum temperatures for today, Wednesday, are expected to be between 8 and 9 degrees Celsius higher than usual for this time of year. The weather will be dry and hot over the high alpine heights and extremely hot throughout the rest of the region. Winds will be southeasterly light, changing to northwesterly moderate. The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) warned of the risks associated with dehydration and direct sunlight exposure, particularly with regard to the health of the elderly and sick. It also discusses the possibility of forest fires, the peril of leaving children in closed vehicles, even for a brief time, and the danger of leaving flammable materials, perfumes, and sterilizers inside of cars. Temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 39 degrees Celsius and a low of 23 degrees. Highs in the port city of Aqaba will reach 45 degrees during the day, sliding to 31 degrees at night.
