At a meeting with Fisheries and Marine Life Association President Mohammed Shaheen, the minister said that the Agriculture Ministry has earmarked JD10 million for zero-interest loans and an additional JD5 million as “youth loans”, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

“Developing an action plan for the sector includes an appropriate production environment and marketing solutions for local fish production, in addition to overcoming challenges that local farmers face,” Hneifat said.

For his part, Shaheen said “the fisheries sector seeks cooperation and sustained partnership to overcome challenges, especially under the national sustainable agriculture plan, which provides for a solid infrastructure across sectors.”
