Jordan’s real estate market recorded stronger activity in September, with total property trading rising 16% year-on-year, alongside increased sales activity and a notable rise in apartment transactions. The value of property purchases by non-Jordanians also increased during the first nine months of the year.

According to a report by the Department of Lands and Survey, monitored by Al Mamlaka, total property trading reached JD 720.5 million in September, up 16% from the same month last year and 7% from August.
During the first nine months of 2026, however, total property trading declined 1% year-on-year to around JD 5.1 billion.
Real estate market revenues rose to approximately JD 28.7 million in September, an increase of 14% compared with September 2025 and 5% from the previous month.
For the first nine months of the year, market revenues increased 6% year-on-year to around JD 210.8 million.
Apartment Sales Rise 17%
Property sales in Jordan increased 6% in September compared with the same month last year, despite falling 3% from August, according to the report.
The improvement was driven by apartment sales, which rose 17% year-on-year and 7% compared with the previous month.
Land sales increased 2% year-on-year but declined 6% from August.
During the first nine months of 2026, overall property sales fell 7% compared with the same period in 2025. Apartment sales declined 3%, while land sales dropped 8%.
A total of 8,214 properties were sold to companies in Jordan during the first nine months of the year.
Non-Jordanian Property Ownership Up 17%
The estimated value of property transactions involving non-Jordanians rose 17% during the first nine months of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025, reaching approximately JD 168.3 million.
The increase came despite a 1% decline in the number of transactions involving non-Jordanians. Apartment sales to non-Jordanians rose 7%, while land sales fell 12%.
In September, the estimated value of property transactions by non-Jordanians reached around JD 21.2 million, up 4% year-on-year but down 11% from August.
The number of transactions involving non-Jordanians fell 1% compared with September 2025 and 14% from the previous month.
Apartment sales to non-Jordanians increased 3% year-on-year in September but declined 9% from August. Land sales to non-Jordanians fell 8% year-on-year and 23% compared with the previous month.
Regarding property ownership by gender, the report showed that women accounted for 35.18% of total property owners, compared with 64.82% for men.
