A certificate of origin is a document used in international trade to certify that goods in a specific shipment were produced, manufactured, or processed in a particular country. It is used by customs authorities to determine tariff eligibility and to verify the country of origin of the goods.

The Amman Chamber of Commerce issues certificates of origin for Jordanian agricultural and livestock products, raw natural resources, re-exported foreign goods, and foreign goods purchased from the local market under specific conditions.

It also issues certificates of origin for Jordanian industrial products at the exporter’s request, based on the original factory invoice certified by an industrial chamber and an original, duly certified certificate of origin issued by an industrial chamber, confirming that the goods are of Jordanian origin. This is in accordance with Article (29) of the Jordan Chambers of Commerce Regulation No. (45) of 2009 and the Instructions for Issuing Certificates of Origin for 2013.
