Bustanji, said that the number of vehicles that were cleared at the Zarqa Free Zone during the last ten months of this year was 46,339, out of those 16,177 were hybrid vehicles.

In statement Sunday, Bustanji said that clearance of hybrid vehicles had picked up since last June until today because of the government’s intention to increase taxes on such vehicles by 55 percent.

He said that as of next year the market will witness a slowdown in growth of sale of hybrid vehicles as the tax hike on such vehicles goes into effect.
