Shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz slowed this week after Iran on Monday threatened to retaliate against any new US attacks.
Data from Kpler showed Tuesday that the number of cargo vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz fell to seven on Monday, down from eight the previous day.

Iran had warned that energy infrastructure across the Gulf region could be at risk, including US interests in the oil and gas sector.
Goldman Sachs also raised its forecasts for Brent and West Texas Intermediate crude prices for December 2026 and 2027, expecting shipping disruptions in the Middle East to persist into next year.
Meanwhile, traffic through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, another key waterway for cargo vessels, increased.
Kpler data showed that a total of 29 cargo vessels passed through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait on Monday, up from 17 the previous day.
Some vessels may transit both straits with their automatic identification system transponders switched off, meaning they would not be included in the statistics.
