Gold prices fell on Thursday amid a strengthening U.S. dollar and signs of possible progress in trade talks.
Spot gold dropped by 0.7% to $3,265.45 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures declined by 1.4% to $3,273.70 per ounce.

The U.S. Dollar Index, which measures the greenback against a basket of major currencies, rose by 0.2%, making gold less attractive to holders of other currencies.
As for other precious metals:
Silver rose 0.1% in spot trading to $32.63 per ounce.
Platinum dipped 0.1% to $965.32.
Palladium edged up 0.1% to $938.85.
