AMMAN — A parliamentary source confirmed that the budget speech will be delivered by the Minister of Finance Mohammad Al-Ississ before the Lower House at the start of next year, Hala News reported. اضافة اعلان

The source added that after MPs read the general draft budget bill, it will be transferred to the Finance Committee.

The budget speech usually takes place in late November or early December, but due to the transport strike and other circumstances, it was delayed to the beginning of 2023.

The Finance Committee usually takes up to one month to deliberate the general draft budget bill, meaning that the likely date for deputies to discuss the budget under the Dome is in February.

Article 113 of the Constitution stipulates that "If it is not possible to enact the General Budget Law before the beginning of the new financial year, expenditures shall continue by monthly appropriations at the rate of 1/12th of each month of the previous year's budget".
