The occasion also draws attention to the expanding role of pharmacists in a field that has moved beyond medicines to encompass research, innovation, pharmaceutical manufacturing, drug policy and health security.

On this occasion, Applied Science Private University (ASU) said the major transformations taking place in the global healthcare sector are ushering pharmacy into a new phase, where pharmaceutical sciences intersect with biotechnology, artificial intelligence, precision medicine and advanced drug-delivery systems. These efforts have been accompanied by the development of professional training and engagement with the pharmaceutical and industrial sectors, reflecting an understanding of the ongoing transformation of the pharmaceutical labor market and its expanding career pathways, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, research and development, quality assurance, regulatory affairs and drug registration.
