The balance of credit facilities provided by banks operating in the local market increased during the first half of this year by 4.7%, compared to the first half of 2025, according to the latest Central Bank data.اضافة اعلان

The total value of loans and facilities during the first half of this year reached approximately 37.147 billion JOD, compared to 35.473 billion JOD in the first six months of 2025.

According to the data, overdraft loans—referring to salary-backed overdraft facilities—accounted for 6.8% of total facilities, amounting to 2.815 billion JOD. Meanwhile, loans in the form of credit cards reached approximately 468 million JOD in the first six months of this year.

Based on the distribution of borrowing entities from January through June, the value of facilities granted to the private sector (both resident and non-resident) reached approximately 32.737 billion JOD, representing nearly 88% of total facilities. Meanwhile, the public sector's facilities during this period stood at approximately 4.388 billion JOD.

As for the sectors receiving the highest share of facilities in the first half of 2026, figures show that the "other sectors" category—which includes equity financing, vehicle financing, consumer goods financing, and personal loans—ranked first with 8.934 billion JOD. The construction sector followed in second place, receiving approximately 8.045 billion JOD in financing.
