The US military announced on Sunday that it had shot down two Iranian drones which it said "posed a threat to maritime navigation" in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.اضافة اعلان

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) wrote on the X platform, "Earlier today, US forces in the Middle East shot down two Iranian one-way attack drones that threatened international maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz."

It added, "US forces remain on alert and prepared to continue defending themselves against Iranian aggression."

On Friday evening, CENTCOM announced that it had shot down four Iranian drones launched toward the Strait, and subsequently struck Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites.

In response, Iran announced that it had fired missiles at military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain, both allies of the United States. For its part, the US military stated that it had shot down six ballistic missiles, while a seventh missed its target. (AFP)
