Iran Warns of Pressure Undermining Diplomatic Efforts Ahead of Netanyahu–Trump Meeting
Iran warned on Tuesday of “destructive pressures and influences” on diplomatic efforts ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Washington for talks expected to focus on U.S.-Iran negotiations.اضافة اعلان

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said during the weekly press conference: “The party we are negotiating with is the United States, and it is up to Washington to decide whether it can act independently of destructive pressures and influences that harm the region.”

He added, “The Zionist regime has repeatedly demonstrated, in its disruptive role, its opposition to any diplomatic process in our region that could lead to peace.”

Baghaei said that last week’s nuclear talks with the United States were primarily aimed at gauging Washington’s seriousness, noting that the brief meeting showed there was sufficient understanding to continue discussions despite a lack of trust.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani arrived in Oman on Tuesday, according to the IRNA news agency, days after a round of talks between the United States and Iran was held there.

Larijani is scheduled to meet with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman and Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, IRNA reported.

On Monday, Larijani said the visit would address the latest regional and international developments, in addition to economic cooperation between Iran and Oman.

The visit comes days after negotiations between Washington and Tehran were held amid U.S. threats to use force.

Tehran wants the talks to be limited to its nuclear program, without addressing other issues, including its missile program.
