Hygesith: Washington and Beijing Explore Direct Military Communication Channels

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hygesith stated, following his meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun in Malaysia, that the United States and China have agreed on the need to establish direct military communication channels to reduce conflicts and prevent the escalation of potential future issues.اضافة اعلان

After the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea, Hygesith posted on X on Saturday: “I held an equally positive meeting with my counterpart, Chinese Minister of National Defense Admiral Dong Jun, in Malaysia.”

He added that U.S. and Chinese officials will hold further meetings regarding the establishment of these communication channels.
