A person opened fire on two brothers while they were standing in front of their commercial shop in downtown Ma’an, before fleeing the scene, according to a security source in Ma’an Governorate.
The source said that security forces immediately responded to the incident. After reviewing nearby surveillance camera footage, it was found that a vehicle carrying three individuals was present at the scene, and that one of them fired gunshots at the two brothers, injuring them. The security services have opened an investigation into the incident, and the search is ongoing for the shooter, the vehicle, and those inside it.
Preliminary information indicates that the incident occurred against the backdrop of an old feud, noting that all those involved are residents of the city of Aqaba.
Meanwhile, the Director of Ma’an Governmental Hospital, Dr. Walid Al-Rawad, confirmed that two individuals with gunshot wounds were admitted to the Emergency Department. He said the injuries were to the back and neck areas, describing the victims’ condition as moderate.
