Amman - Minister of Transport Wissam Tahtamouni on Sunday met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Jordan, Sheikh Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to explore enhanced cooperation in the transportation sector.

Tahtamouni underscored the strong and long-standing relations between Jordan and Bahrain, emphasizing that their bilateral ties, established over decades, are a reflection of the wise leadership of both countries. She highlighted transportation as a key element in bolstering economic and social development.
The Bahraini ambassador echoed these sentiments, describing the relationship between Jordan and Bahrain as both historical and deeply rooted. He expressed pride in the collaborative efforts between the two nations, noting that their strong partnership has contributed to sustainable development and continues to serve the mutual interests of both countries.
During the talks, Tahtamouni and the ambassador discussed a draft cooperation agreement focusing on transportation, navigation, and maritime collaboration, intending to finalize it in the near future. They also reviewed progress on a draft Memorandum of Understanding regarding the mutual recognition of civil certificates, in accordance with international training and qualification standards for personnel from both countries.
Discussions further extended to air transport, where both parties explored cooperation between Jordan’s Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority and Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs. The memorandum being considered aims to develop joint initiatives in the civil aviation sector.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Tahtamouni highlighted the Jordan Meteorology Department’s readiness to offer training in various meteorological disciplines, including weather monitoring, forecasting, and satellite observation.
