The teaching staff in public schools begins work today, Sunday, marking the start of preparations for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, according to the official school calendar.

Student attendance will begin on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
Textbook Distribution and Student Registration
Textbooks will be distributed, and the registration of transferred students will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, August 20 and 21, 2025.
Schools will organize student and scout volunteer teams to assist with book distribution and guide new students.
Holidays During the First Semester
A public holiday will be observed on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in honor of the Prophet Mohammad’s birthday, according to a Prime Ministry announcement.
Christmas Day falls on Thursday, December 25, 2025.
New Year’s Day will be observed on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
Final Exams and Winter Break – Public Schools
The final achievement exams for students in basic education and secondary stages (Grades 11 and 12) will be held from Thursday, December 18, 2025, to Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Winter break will begin on Sunday, January 11, 2026, and end on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
Private Schools
The teaching staff in private schools will begin work on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
Textbook distribution and registration of transferred students will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, August 27 and 28, 2025, with support from volunteer student and scout teams.
Make-up exams (for students who need them) will be conducted at least seven days before the start of the new academic year.
The academic year for students in private schools will start on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
A public holiday for the Prophet’s birthday will be observed on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in accordance with the Prime Ministry's circular.
Final Exams and Winter Break – Private Schools
Final exams for the first semester will be held from Thursday, December 11, to Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
Winter break will run from Sunday, January 4, to Saturday, January 31, 2026.
