Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez affirmed that Jordan’s approach to regional issues and challenges is rooted in its national principles and supreme interests, established by His Majesty King Abdullah II. These principles, he noted, reflect the wisdom of the Hashemite leadership and its constant commitment to national security and regional stability. He stressed that Jordan will not allow itself to become a battlefield for any party.

During a meeting organized by the "Amman Group for Future Dialogues," Al-Fayez described Iranian aggressions against Jordan and the Arabian Gulf states as "unacceptable, rejected, and condemned." He emphasized that the security of Jordan and the Gulf states constitutes a single, indivisible security framework.
Diplomatic Efforts and Regional Defense
Al-Fayez pointed out that the intensive diplomatic efforts led by His Majesty the King on the international stage aim to protect Jordanian principles, shield the Kingdom from the repercussions of regional conflicts, and maintain its stability amidst a turbulent regional environment.
He called for strengthening the Joint Arab Security and Defense System, alongside pushing for an effective Arab economic union. Such integration, he argued, would enable Arab nations to possess independent political decision-making power and enhance their presence as an influential regional force. He stressed that the current phase requires an "Arab Awakening" based on unified ranks and joint political, economic, and military action.
Regional Threats and Economic Challenges
Addressing key challenges, Al-Fayez highlighted Israeli expansionist ambitions, particularly plans to annex lands in the West Bank, while reaffirming Jordan’s adherence to the two-state solution as a strategic choice for peace.
Regarding energy challenges, he warned of the consequences of any closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which could trigger a stifling global economic crisis. He noted that the "Iranian threat" and its interference in several Arab countries make rising global prices an additional burden on nations and their peoples.
Internal Front and Social Media
On the growing challenge of social media, Al-Fayez stated that these platforms are witnessing systematic campaigns targeting Jordan from both inside and outside. He called for dealing with this issue with total national responsibility and establishing regulations to curb their misuse in spreading discord or harming the social fabric.
He concluded by stating that the awareness of Jordanians and their unity behind the Hashemite leadership remain the nation’s "impenetrable fortress." He noted that despite the regional crises faced since 2003, Jordan has maintained its stability and achieved an economic growth rate of approximately 3%.
Finally, Al-Fayez emphasized the importance of a comprehensive national strategy to bolster national belonging, especially in schools and universities, while calling for a clear Arab stance and a more serious European role in supporting the two-state solution to safeguard Arab interests and regional stability.
