AMMAN — Jordanian
Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi reportedly
refused to take a phone call from
Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen on Sunday,
following the arrest of a Jordanian deputy earlier in the day, according to
Israeli media.

MP Imad Al-Adwan was arrested on Sunday for allegedly
attempting to smuggle gold and weapons at
King Hussein Bridge into the West Bank.
InvestigationAccording to AmmanNet, an Israeli site reported that
Israel's internal security apparatus "Shin Bet" is investigating
whether this is the
first smuggling operation for the Jordanian deputy and what
its purpose is.
Israeli authorities have said they will release Adwan as
soon as their investigation with him is concluded.
The Jordanian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that
it is following up on the arrest of Adwan by Israel.
