The Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. Obaidallah Maaytah, paid a visit on Wednesday to Gendarmerie Battalion 25 under the Eastern Gendarmerie Command in Al-Ruwaished District, to assess operational readiness and the level of security and humanitarian services provided to citizens.

During his meeting with personnel from the Gendarmerie, Civil Defense, and Royal Desert Police, Major General Maaytah conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, expressing the King’s pride in the dedication and commitment of all Public Security members in serving the nation.
He emphasized the importance of enhancing operational readiness and upgrading the quality of services, stressing that the war against drugs continues with full strength and unwavering resolve, in close coordination with the Jordan Armed Forces and other security agencies.
Maaytah commended the recent successes of the Anti-Narcotics Department, the Gendarmerie, and the Royal Desert Police, whose efforts led to the seizure of large quantities of narcotics and the arrest of traffickers and smugglers, preventing them from spreading their poisons within Jordan or neighboring countries.
The Director reiterated the Directorate’s commitment to equipping all units with advanced technical capabilities to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens under all circumstances. He also directed that community services and engagement with the local population be expanded to strengthen cooperation and public trust.
During the visit, Major General Maaytah received a briefing from the commander of Gendarmerie Battalion 25 outlining key field and operational duties, which are carried out based on well-structured plans aimed at boosting performance and ensuring effective coordination with other security formations for optimal public service.
