The ministry's secretary-general Wajdi Dalaeen said during a visit to Al-Iraq village that "the amount of rain in the area far exceeded the capacity of valleys and culverts, blocking them and triggering flash floods."

"That caused damage to several main road sections, and some homes were flooded with varying material damage," he said, assuring that the losses were only material.

A report on damage and losses in the affected area, including the urgent needs of local people, will be passed to Minister of Local Administration Walid Al-Masri to rehabilitate the affected areas, he said.

He said that emergency response teams and machinery of Mu'tah and Mazar municipalities, the Karak Governorate, and the Ministry of Public Works were were working to repair damage and meet the needs of local inhabitants.
