AMMAN — The
Higher Education Council approved the
establishment of a faculty of Auxiliary
Medical Science at Mutah University, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

The new faculty
will include programs like medical laboratory sciences, as well as cosmetology
and cosmetics. Teaching will begin in the 2022–2023 academic year.
Mutah University
President Arafat Al-Awajan said that the faculty is a qualitative addition to
the new disciplines that have recently
developed, meeting the demand for certain occupations in the labor market.
In the first
stage, the departments of cosmetology and cosmetics, medical, and laboratory
sciences will be operating, he pointed out. Other majors like radiology,
respiratory therapy, and physiotherapy will be added in the future, he
explained.
Awajan added
that the majors will help meet the demand for certain occupations in the labor
market, while also increasing the recruitment of graduate students across the
Kingdom.
