The Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply has warned citizens against engaging with misleading advertisements for so-called “Lucky Boxes” promoted through social media pages. These ads claim that valuable prizes such as cash, mobile phones, and other rewards are contained in the boxes, and that buyers are eligible to win them.اضافة اعلان

Ministry spokesperson, Ninal Al-Barmawi, stated in a press release that the ministry has received complaints from citizens regarding these ads. He emphasized that the prizes are misleading, and the actual value of the boxes does not correspond to the price paid, causing financial harm to those who purchase them.

He added that these practices violate existing legislation that prohibits offering prizes in a misleading manner and are considered harmful to Jordanian citizens. The ministry will monitor these platforms and any complaints in coordination with relevant authorities and take legal action against those responsible for such misleading advertisements and promotional campaigns, referring them to the judiciary.

Al-Barmawi urged citizens not to participate in or interact with such campaigns, not to pay any money for these misleading boxes, and to report these ads via WhatsApp at the numbers (0797527819 / 0797527832).

He also noted that the Industry and Trade Law, Consumer Protection Law, and related legislation criminalize such unlawful acts, imposing penalties ranging from JOD 1,000 to JOD 10,000, or imprisonment for up to six months, or both.
