King’s US visit opportunity ‘to discuss Middle East challenges’ — US envoy

AMMAN — The US is looking forward to a meeting among Their Majesties King Abdullah, Queen Rania, HRH Crown Prince Hussein, and US President Joe Biden, a US envoy said on Thursday.اضافة اعلان

The Charge d'Affaires at the US Embassy in Jordan Michael Hankey told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the visit will “be an opportunity to discuss the many challenges facing the Middle East and showcase Jordan's leadership role in promoting peace and stability in the region.”

In a statement, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that the US president and the first lady look forward to welcoming King Abdullah, Queen Rania, and Crown Prince Hussein to the White House on July 19, 2021.

"His Majesty’s visit will highlight the enduring and strategic partnership between the United States and Jordan, a key security partner and ally of the United States," Psaki added.

President Biden looks forward to working with King Abdullah to strengthen bilateral cooperation on multiple political, security, and economic issues, including the promotion of economic opportunities that will be vital for the future in Jordan, according to the statement.
