King reaffirms support for Iraq’s stability

NEW YORK — His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi in New York, and discussed the deep-rooted relations between Jordan and Iraq, according to a Royal Court statement.اضافة اعلان

At the meeting, held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly and attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, King Abdullah reaffirmed Jordan’s support for Iraq and the Iraqi people in their efforts to safeguard their security, stability, and progress.

His Majesty highlighted Iraq’s pivotal role in the region, commending Prime Minister Kadhimi’s efforts to support national dialogue.

Discussions covered maintaining coordination and consultation between the two countries and keenness on moving forward with bilateral projects, as well as trilateral cooperation with Egypt.

The meeting also addressed efforts to counter terrorism within a holistic approach.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, and Jordan’s Ambassador in Washington, DC, Dina Kawar attended the meeting.
