NEW YORK — His Majesty King Abdullah II met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, praising his role in supporting to achieve peace and stability in the region and the world.اضافة اعلان

On Tuesday, His Majesty confirmed the importance of the United Nations and the international community role in moving the peace process forward and re-launching negotiations between the Palestine and Israel, leading to a comprehensive peace based on the two-state separation and the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

His Majesty stressed the need for the international community to undertake its responsibilities towards refugees and the countries hosting them, especially Palestinian refugees, to ease their economic burdens and enable those countries to continue providing them with basic services, pointing to the importance of increasing the efforts to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees "UNRWA".

The meeting also included the efforts to reach political solutions to solve the region’s crises, in addition to regional and international efforts in the war on terrorism, according to a holistic approach.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, Director of His Majesty's Office, Dr. Jaafar Hassan, and Jordan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mahmoud Al-Hamoud.
