AMMAN — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates asserted the importance of halting the aggression against the Gaza Strip, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

The ministry urged the international community to immediately halt the escalation, and provide protection for the brotherly Palestinian people.

Ministry spokesperson Haitham Abul Foul warned of the “severe consequences” of the Israeli escalation and terrorizing of civilians, which will only increase tension and violence and deepen the environment of despair.

The only way to resolve the dilemma in Gaza is to find a real political horizon that fosters a return to serious and effective negotiations on the basis of the two-state solution, lifting the siege on Gaza, addressing the humanitarian needs, and respecting the rules of international law and the resolutions of international legitimacy, Abul Foul said.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Action Front (IAF) issued a statement on Saturday saying that it is “closely following the brutal Zionist attack on the Gaza Strip”, which it said began with a “cowardly” operation targeting Tayseer Al-Jabari, a senior member of Islamic Jihad, and included raids against Palestinians in the believed Gaza Strip. The IAF condemned the “blatant Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people” and the “international silence” on Israeli crimes in the strip.

The IAF saluted the Palestinian resistance groups, which it said defend the Palestinian people in the face of Israel. It called on Arab governments “to take immediate and urgent measures to deter the occupation from continuing its criminal practices against the Palestinian people”.
