Hotel occupancy rates reach 54% in Aqaba

AQABA - The average occupancy rate for hotels in the port city of Aqaba reached 54 per cent, while five-star hotels witnessed a 91 per cent occupancy rate, according to Nidal Al Majali, Commissioner for Tourism and Environment at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

The surge in occupancy rates, Al Majali added, was due to the return of Jordanian expatriates, noting that the hotel occupancy also increased by 18.3 per cent during the first half of 2022, compared with the same period of 2021.
In Wadi Rum area, the number of visitors stood at 117,000 visitors during the first half of 2022, while 7,000 visitors entered the area during Eid al-Adha vacation, Al Majali said.

Al Majali spoke about the agreement signed by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources' Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF) and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) to support Aqaba hotels through implementing a JD1.5-million energy conservation project.
