The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has launched its annual summer campaign to combat insects and rodents across all areas of the city. The campaign is being carried out by the three branches of the Disease Vector Control and Animal Care Department located in West Amman, East Amman, and Central Amman, and will continue until the end of November.

The campaign includes spraying manholes, sewage lines, water collection sites, environmental hazards, slaughterhouses, waste dumps, garbage containers, and vegetable markets—along with other areas that provide a breeding ground for insects and disease-carrying vectors. These operations are conducted during both morning and evening shifts.
In the evenings, ULV (ultra-low volume) fogging devices will be used specifically to target mosquitoes.
The campaign follows a structured work plan prepared for this purpose, and also responds to service requests submitted by citizens through GAM’s various communication channels.
The Disease Vector Control and Animal Care Department gives top priority to urgent citizen complaints, which are addressed immediately by emergency response teams.
GAM stresses the importance of its pest control staff displaying official identification and wearing the designated municipal uniform when providing services, and encourages citizens to verify these credentials.
The municipality also emphasizes the critical role citizens play in maintaining their homes and surrounding environment to prevent them from becoming breeding grounds for insects and rodents. It urges public cooperation and invites residents to report any observations through its communication channels, available around the clock via www.amman.jo or the unified call center at (102 or 117180).
