The Cabinet, during its session held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Dr. Jafar Hassan, approved the Construction Licensing and Control Regulation within the limits of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) for the year 2026.

The regulation aims to develop an integrated system for managing construction works within GAM's boundaries across all stages. This will take place within a specific legal framework that regulates, unifies, and simplifies the procedures for granting construction licenses, permits, approvals, clearances, and any related processes, as well as monitoring their execution.
Furthermore, the regulation seeks to enhance transparency in implementing procedures related to issuing construction licenses, ensuring they fall within specific, binding timeframes for the municipality. It also aims to prevent overlap and duplication in transaction procedures by leveraging modern electronic means, including artificial intelligence systems and electronic linkage with relevant official, service, and professional entities.
Under this regulation, a supervisory system will be established to ensure compliance with zoning laws, building codes, and blueprints issued by GAM. It will also empower the municipality to take the necessary administrative measures to rectify violations within a specific, clear sequence tied to defined timeframes.
