Foreign ministry follows up on arrest of deputy in Israel

AMMAN — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates is closely monitoring the arrest of a Jordanian deputy in Israel, according to the ministry's spokesman, Sinan Majali.
 
The deputy was reportedly apprehended by Israeli police for questioning regarding an alleged smuggling operation of weapons and gold.
 
Following up through official channels
Speaking to Al-Mamlaka TV, Majali stated that the ministry is following the incident closely through official diplomatic channels to confirm the details of the situation.
 
The ministry, in a statement, also confirmed that they are coordinating with all relevant parties to address the case.
 
Various reports on Sunday stated that Israeli authorities foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons through the King Hussein Bridge in a vehicle allegedly owned by the Jordanian deputy, with Israeli social media accounts circulating information about the alleged operation.
 
The deputy has been identified as Imad Al-Adwan.
 
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said it is working with relevant authorities in Jordan to determine the details of the situation and address it as soon as possible.اضافة اعلان
