AMMAN (Jordan News) — Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi on Friday
continued an extensive diplomatic push to end the escalation in the Palestinian
lands.

A ministry statement said that in a phone call with Egyptian Foreign
Minister Sameh Shukri, Safadi discussed efforts aiming at ending the crisis in
the Palestinian territories and providing protection for the Palestinians.
The two ministers, during the phone call, stressed the need for an effective
international action to protect the Palestinians, halt the escalation, and stop
the Israeli aggression on Gaza, which has claimed dozens of lives.
The top diplomats held Israel accountable for the escalation that could push
the entire region towards more tension and violence, the statement said.
Earlier in the day, Safadi received a call from Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, in
which they discussed potential détente in the Mideast conflict through peaceful
means.
