EU, Germany offer Jordan 86m euros in financial aid

AMMAN - The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, on Thursday, signed four grant agreements with the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Government worth 86 million euros.اضافة اعلان

The EU support covers, the ministry said in a statement, the implementation of water resources management for southern Amman areas and developing sewage services for 80 thousand houses, in addition to building a landfill in southern Amman.

The German aid will contribute to enhancing water supplies and linking wastewater networks with new ones in northern parts of the Kingdom in order to serve the host communities and the refugees alike, the German aid also covers the financing of the Project Management Unit at the Ministry of Education.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser al-Shraideh and Mark Schwiete, KfW country director Jordan (German Development Bank) signed the agreements that related to water sector and wastewater.
