Dughmi lauds King for defending Arab causes

AMMAN — Speaker of the Lower House Abdul Karim Al-Dughmi praised His Majesty King Abdullah’s efforts at the international and regional levels, which reflected commitment to defending the Arab nation’s legitimate and historical rights.اضافة اعلان

The Jordan News Agency, Petra, said Dughmi spoke at the opening of the Parliament’s extraordinary session, which reconvened on Wednesday.

Dughmi referred to the King’s speech at the Jeddah Summit for Security and Development, which highlighted the pan-Arab aspirations and their main issues, foremost is the Palestinian cause.

His Majesty pushed the path of Jordan’s economic and administrative modernization, in a bid to complete the legislative package, which would contribute to creating development horizons in all state corporations, Dughmi said.

In this regard, he noted the economic and investment environment laws, which are scheduled to be debated in Lower House of Parliament during its special summer session. He said that was in line with His Majesty’s modernization drive.

The House is aware of the “complicated” crises regionally and globally, which left “remarkable” impact on the Kingdom, Dughmi said.

In comments carried by Al-Mamlaka TV, Dughmi elaborated on the regional crises. He said: “What everyone needs today, representatives, government and people, is to hold the Jordanian state as the historical achievement of the people.”

He called for working together as one team to attain development, freedom, democracy and social justice, and to build on the achievements of the fathers and forefathers who preserved Jordan’s independence and built its edifices in all fields.
