Army Foils Five Attempts to Smuggle Large Quantities of Drugs at Dawn on Wednesday

The Eastern Military Zone foiled, at dawn on Wednesday and within its area of responsibility, five attempts to smuggle large quantities of narcotics. The attempts were carried out using balloons guided by advanced electronic devices, launched simultaneously in an effort to distract Border Guard units and evade surveillance.اضافة اعلان

Through precise monitoring and tracking, Border Guard units detected all attempts at different locations. Two attempts were thwarted at the launch site during a specialized operation, while three other attempts were intercepted by bringing down the balloons and seizing their payloads inside Jordanian territory.

The seized materials were handed over to the competent authorities, in coordination with the security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, to take the necessary legal measures.

The Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army reaffirm that they will continue to employ all their capabilities and resources to prevent smuggling and infiltration operations, and to confront anyone who seeks to undermine the security and stability of the homeland.
