Arab meeting in Amman to support Palestine employment strategy

AMMAN — A high-ranking partners meeting to support the implementation of the Palestinian National Employment Strategy is expected to be held in Amman on Thursday, according to news outlets. اضافة اعلان

In a statement, Egypt’s Ministry of Manpower said that the meeting is being held in implementation of the decisions of the Arab Labor Conference held in Cairo in September 2022, which recommended supporting Palestine’s national employment strategy and inviting Arab countries to participate in and contribute to the meeting.

The Ministers of Labor for Jordan, Palestine, and Egypt are set to participate, as well as representatives of the Arab League, the Arab and International Labor Organization, and the Central Agency for Palestinian Statistics, and employers, representatives of chambers of commerce, and industrial and agricultural stakeholders.

Also attending will be a representative of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and the UN Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process.

Palestinian strategyPalestine’s 2021–2025 National Employment Strategy was approved by the Palestinian Council of Ministers in November 2020, and was later launched in Ramallah in March 2021.

The strategy has a number of goals: supporting governance, developing labor market policies and programs, synchronizing the education system with the needs of the labor market, enhancing the role and resilience of the private sector, and creating decent job opportunities for Palestinian youth.
