This fruit, also known as "green plum," contains many important nutrients, most notably:
Vitamin C: Contributes to supporting immune system health.
Fiber: Helps improve digestion and reduce constipation.
Water: Contributes to hydrating the body, especially in hot weather.
Despite its benefits, many people make a common mistake when eating Janarek. Lebanese clinical dietitian Dinar Al-Ashi explained in an interview with CNN Arabic that overindulging in salt with the fruit can cause a number of health issues, including:
Fluid retention in the body
An increased risk of dehydration
Difficulty losing weight
Exacerbating blood pressure problems
What is the solution?
Al-Ashi advises placing the desired amount of Janarek in a bowl, then seasoning it with just a pinch of salt and fresh lemon juice.
This method helps enhance the fruit's flavor while remaining low in calories, and eliminates the need to add salt to each individual piece while eating.
