Jordan has been designated host of the two group’s matches, which have been scheduled between June 12 and June 14.

“All the necessary arrangements and meetings have been completed. We have set forth all the conditions required to ensure compliance to the measures followed during the FIFA Asia Cup and taekwondo qualifiers recently,” Abu Ata said in remarks to Jordan News.

Abu Ata noted that the federation has been facing difficulties in promoting the final window of the Asian qualifiers as teams will have to compete before empty stands, but added: “We are trying to do good job.”

He added that the Qatar sports broadcast network, beIN Sports, will be the exclusive broadcaster of the event, which will be held at the Prince Hamzah Hall.

“We have decided to form an U-16 national team for both genders, and prepare them to take over the first division spot in the future,” Abu Ata said.

Meanwhile, the Kingdom's national team has selected a player to naturalize so that he may represent Jordan in the FIBA Asia Cup finals in Indonesia, adding that the identity of the new power-forward will be disclosed officially once all the paperwork has been concluded.
