Jordan Pharmacists Association President Zaid Kilani said the trivalent influenza vaccine will become available in the private sector next October.

Speaking to The Kingdom, Kilani said around 100,000 doses of the influenza vaccine will be made available through the public sector, in addition to other quantities that will be supplied to pharmacies across the Kingdom in the private sector.
He explained that the vaccine sold at pharmacies will be subject to pricing set by the Jordan Food and Drug Administration.
The Jordan Food and Drug Administration told The Kingdom that the trivalent influenza vaccine is priced at JOD 8.04, while the quadrivalent vaccine is priced at JOD 9.48.
Seasonal influenza is a highly contagious viral disease that affects the respiratory system. The Ministry of Health recommends receiving the seasonal influenza vaccine at the beginning of each winter season, particularly for groups at higher risk of complications.
These groups include people with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as well as cancer and dialysis patients.
They also include pregnant women, older adults, healthcare workers, people with weakened immune systems, thalassemia patients, and children aged between six months and five years.
Data from the Ministry of Health’s report on the implementation of its 2023–2025 strategic plan showed that the ministry had adopted a clear national policy on seasonal influenza vaccination and established a unified national database for vaccine recipients.
The full approved quantity of 75,000 doses was administered in 2025.
Ministry of Health guidelines also stipulate that healthcare workers should receive the seasonal influenza vaccine annually, as a single dose.
