Firefighters extinguish blaze in Jordan Valley

AMMAN — Civil Defense and Jordan Valley municipality personnel battled a fire that engulfed a banana orchard in Southern Shouneh on Friday.اضافة اعلان

The fire destroyed nearly 120 dunums before being extinguished Friday evening, according to authorities. Head of the Jordan Valley municipal committee, Tayel Al-Majali, told Al-Ghad news that high winds and dry brush contributed to the spread of the fire.

The official added that there were no injuries and he encouraged people not to throw cigarette butts or leave fires burning unattended.
